Studio Community

The concept behind DP Studios is to be more than just a room with photographic equipment but rather a community; a home for all of Glasgow’s creative community.  We have a number of schemes designed to encourage communication and co-operation amongst the many different types of people involved in the fashion and photography communities.  You can learn more about these by reading below:

PORTFOLIO CARDS

- Want more shoots to improve your portfolio?
- Organised a shoot but had someone cancel on you?

Most of us will have experienced it: you go to all the effort of organising a shoot only to have someone cancel at the last minute. It is a common but regrettable part of the industry but we at DP Studios have a remedy for this.

By becoming a members of the DP Studios Community you can have an entry in our book of models, photographers, make-up artists and stylists.  Much like those found in modelling agencies or online at sites like Model Mayhem they give you a chance to showcase to anyone visiting the studio.

Portfolio cards show examples of your work and contain the information you want others to see. For those seeking it is an excellent resource for replacing missing people at short notice. For those offering it is an ideal method of meeting more people and getting more shoots.

TO APPLY
Follow this link to the web form to submit your details. Alternatively if you are visiting the studio fill in a portfolio application form and hand it in at the office.

Networking Events

Fashion photography is not something you can do alone: photographers, models and make-up artists all need one another’s skills to create truly outstanding images. The question of course is how do you meet other people in the industry?  There are a number of methods (for example the excellent casual networking nights every month hosted by our good friends at the Scottish Creative Network)

At the studio we do our own events; networking with a difference.  At most business networking events you meet people and talk and make plans for the future that, lets face it, most of the time come to nothing.  The DP Studios networking event takes place in a functioning studio and is built around the idea of shooting; you can come along, meet people and then see how you get on at a shoot there and then.  A great opportunity for making contacts and refreshing your portfolio.

The networking events are hosted every 2-3 months, go to our dedicated Networking Page to find information on the next event
